What are the NCCN Guidelines®?

You might not recognize the acronym “NCCN,” but it will play a central role in your cancer experience. The National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCCN®) is a not-for-profit alliance of the 32 leading cancer centers in the world. The medical community considers the NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines®), which are physician-facing, as the benchmark to follow for premier clinical cancer management. The NCCN Guidelines® represent the evidence-based information that the very best oncology programs rely upon to treat cancer.

If you’re diagnosed with cancer, your oncologist will consult the NCCN Guidelines® to determine the treatment plan that is best for your care. Because science moves so rapidly, the NCCN Guidelines® consistently update to reflect the latest innovation. Unfortunately, patients often miss out on this innovation because doctors can’t physically keep pace with how quickly the science is unfolding.

How does Outcomes4Me use the NCCN Guidelines?

Outcomes4Me has created an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven platform that offers the only direct-to-patient app that integrates with the NCCN Guidelines® and makes them patient-facing. This means that when you securely provide your medical history to Outcomes4Me, our platform uses AI and machine learning to provide you with personalized guidance based upon your unique diagnosis and disease stage. We are an evidence-based and oncologist-approved alternative to worrisome “Dr. Google” searches that don’t take into account the nuances of a patient’s unique and specific diagnosis.

Our goal is to democratize access to information and care–empowering patients, supporting equity within healthcare, and ensuring patients are armed with the information you need to have informed discussion with your care team.
